Light and airy jewelry was a hallmark of the Edwardian era. Gold and pearls were a beloved combination of the time and often accented with sapphire or another colored stone. This wonderful necklace is as luminous as a new dawn, with its creamy white pearls and contrasting gold, the necklace is further set with two bright and sparkling blue sapphires.
The necklace was hand crafted in England in about 1910 using 15 karat gold. It is set with two round faceted sapphires, each measuring 3 mm across and 1.6 mm deep, it is also set with 15 pearls. The foliate motif is timeless and iconic, it has a hand crafted chain and is 17 inches around the neck. The pendant park drops 34.5 mm and is 17.3 mm across at the widest point, it weighs 4.1 grams. This piece is unmarked, the gold has been carefully acid tested.
