Sometimes it’s called a buttercup setting and if you gaze into the depths of this ring you can really start to see why.
This wonderful bright pop of blue is a natural blue zircon which is 6.7 mm in diameter and weighs about 1.80 carats. The gem is super sparkly and is surrounded by rich yellow gold in a rather floral motif. The face of this Edwardian era ring measures 10.1 mm north to south and 18 mm across, it sits 5.1 mm off the finger and narrows to 2.3 mm at the back of the band. This ring is marked with ‘14k’ for 14 karat gold, it is most likely an American beauty, made in the earliest days of the (last) new century, in about 1905-1910. This ring is a size 5.5 and weighs 4.7 grams. We offer free ring resizing where possible, please inquire.
A note from Victoria: Blue zircon is one of my favorite gems, it’s so sparkly and such a startling bright blue. It’s a natural stone and isn’t treated with heat or chemicals. If the stone is heated or even subjected to UV light (like in a nail salon), it can lose it’s vivid blue color, please take care and it will shine bright for many years to come.
