Victorian Shield Shaped Gold Bloodstone Ring Signet

This fabulous, fully hallmarked signet ring was made in Birmingham, England in 1866. It is set with a wonderful shield-shaped cut of deep green bloodstone flecked with red. The stone measures 13.3 mm north to south and 10.3 mm across. The sides of the ring are beautifully carved with scrolling bubbles and curly cues. The face of this ring measures 16 mm north to south and 17 mm across, it sits 3.3 mm off of the finger and narrows to 3.5 mm at the back of the band. This ring is marked with the date marks and also with ’15ct’ and ‘.625’ for 15 karat gold, it also has a makers mark of ‘E.L’. This size 8.25 ring weighs 7.7 grams.
