Arts & Crafts Silver Enamel Pendant by James Fenton

Style? Check. Elegance? Check. Timelessness? Check. A classy Arts & Crafts pendant on a silver hammered setting? Check. I swear, sometimes these baubles know me better than I know myself. Perfection hanging from a chain, really, what more can a girl ask for?

This antique Arts and Crafts James Fenton enamel and silver pendant was handcrafted in 1909, in Birmingham, England. Bright blue enamel makes up most of this shield shaped design, with accents of dark purple on a hammered silver motif with enameled drop. The chain measures 18.5 inches in length while the pendant measures 50 x 21.9 mm. Overall, this piece weighs 6.6 grams. It has been fully hallmarked and bears the sterling silver mark, “925”, the anchor for Birmingham, the lion passant for English sterling silver, the date letter, “k”, and the maker’s mark for James Fenton, “J.F”. It’s also marked, “ODMA”.

This piece is so very Arts and Crafts, bold enamel on a shield shaped pendant, daring to be worn over and over again.
