Antique Victorian Repoussed Flower Bangle Bracelet

For a hundred reasons, I never dreamed I would find myself here, with you, in your fields. And I certainly wasn’t dressed for it. But sometimes the loss of a loved one brings drifted souls together again, and back to our roots. Wearing black for the occasion, I chose a repousse silver bangle for my wrist because it reminded me of Father, now gone, who gently pushed me and helped shape me into a strong flower.

I never knew you saw it, what I had become. You were always so willful and handsome. I was always striving to get somewhere else. Yet here I was, back home in the valley, with my high heels kicked aside and bare feet nestling into the grass beside your incredible garden. Even on a day this heavy, the green beans needed to be picked. I thought of Dad’s bold eyes every time the bracelet sparked in the sun. We harvested the hot afternoon away only breaking to drink sweet tea on your porch. The warm breeze felt so good. Your gaze even better.

This antique Victorian silver bangle was handcrafted around 1880. Using a repousse technique, the flower design in low relief wraps all the way around this stunning bangle, which has a warm hue to it as well. This shimmering bracelet is 25.8 mm wide and weighs 30.5 grams. It’s oval in shape and will hug a wrist up to 7 inches. It bears three marks, ‘STANDARD’, ‘SILVER’ and the letter ’N’. It has been acid tested.
