Edwardian Long Amethyst Diamond Earrings

Like black, white and gray, purple is, somehow, a neutral. It is one of those colors that plays nicely with all the others, purple and green, classic, purple and yellow, bright and cheery, purple and orange, striking and bold, it just works. So, a pair of fabulous hand crafted earrings like these will be sure to end up being that go-to grab every time.
These beautiful earrings were made in England around 1915, they are set with four (4) old European cut diamonds, one at the top and bottom of each ear and twelve (12) rose cut diamonds in total. Each earring is set with a rich, bold tear drop of deep purple amethyst at the bottom. These beauties measure 48 mm from top to bottom and 9 mm across at the widest point. They are not marked but test as 15 karat gold with 18 karat gold wires. The wires seem to have been replaced at some point and the heat of the torch has changed the color of one of the tops a bit, it’s not noticeable when they’re on. I will ask my jeweler if it can be polished if you’re interested. These beauties weigh 4.4 grams.
