My husband’s family has a lake home in the north woods. There is a long hill between the back of the house and the lake, and it’s covered in lily of the valley from top to bottom. The smell of the lilies combines with the smell of the piney woods and the fresh water of the lake to form the most heady perfume on early summer days. When I saw this wonderful pendant my mind conjured this smell and made me long for those sweet summer days by the lake.

This wonderfully detailed pendant was made in Denmark in the 1950s; it measures 55.4 mm north to south including the bale and 44.4 mm across. This pendant is marked to the reverse with Danish marks and ‘830S’ for the silver content and ‘281’ (?), it weighs 8.5 grams.
