Victorian Ruby & Pearl Band 18K, Inscribed "A to B"

$ 950.00

Any time I come by antique jewelry that has been inscribed I get a bit emotional and pause. I long to know more about the original owner and the devoted someone who gave them something so personal. So here I sit, caressing a ring with my fingertips thinking of just that - who was “A” and who was “B”? What was “A to B”? I’ll never know, but a beautiful memento of a life and friendship now but a whisper can still be cherished and admired. It’s so sweet, and this truly is a sweet ring! A smooth gold band with just a touch of delicate engraving on each end of the colorful ruby and pearl setting. It is hallmarked, and of course, inscribed.

This antique ring was handcrafted during the Victorian era during the 1890s. Four vibrant rubies are set with eight pearls, all measuring approximately 2.5 mm in size. The face of the ring measures 8.2 mm north to south, 14.4 mm wide and 2.2 mm off the finger. This is a 5.25 US band that narrows to 3.6 mm at the back. There is a slightly worn maker’s mark and ’18’, verifying its gold content. This lovely band weighs 3.9 grams and is inscribed, “A to B” in a graceful script font.
