French Belle Époque Sapphire Diamond Gold Ring

I needed something comfortable, but not too casual. Something timeless, but never trendy. So, I slipped into this ring, it’s a relaxed fit, like a leather jacket for the finger. The sapphire is the goldilocks of scandal, the ideal balance of rebellion and going with the flow. It gives them just the right amount of something to talk about, but not too much. Rumors should stay mysterious, after all.

This Belle Epoque ring was handcrafted in France around 1900. A beautiful sapphire is accented with three diamonds, all set in 18 karat gold. The round sapphire measures 4.5 x 4.5 x 3 mm and weighs approximately .44 carats. The old European cut diamond measures 4.3 x 3.8 x 2.9 mm and weighs approximately .28 carats. The other two diamonds are rose cut stones. The ring face measures 9 x 10.5 x 4.4 mm off the finger and the band width is 1.4 mm at the back. This ring is a size 6 and it weighs 1.8 grams. It bears a faded French maker’s mark and has been acid tested.

A ring like this gets noticed, in all the good ways of course. For an engagement, an anniversary, or that gift you give yourself because you most certainly deserve it, you’ll be satisfied, I promise.
