The mighty oak grows from the lowly acorn, reminding us that great things often have humble beginnings. The oak leaf and acorn often show up as motifs in jewelry from the Victorian times, as evidenced by these lovely sterling silver earrings.
These wonderful silver earrings feature beautifully detailed oak leaves and acorns; they are repousséd, wonderfully weighty and fully articulated. These earrings measure 38 mm north to south from the top of the wire and are 13 mm across. Together they weigh 6.6 grams. Hand crafted in the Victorian era, they are unmarked and have been teased for metal content, circa 1880-1890.
