A classic pair of Silver earrings just like these would have been ‘de rigueur’ day-wear for the Victorian lady. Silver bangles, collars, lockets, brooches and earrings were produced in every imaginable design for the burgeoning middle classes of Victorian England. Nicer (read, more expensive) versions were done with gold accents in yellow and rose and the very best were crafted in all gold.
This beautiful handcrafted pair of earrings were made around 1890, they showcase a fern leaf design in gold wash at the center of an elaborately embellished circle of silver. This pair of earrings is unmarked but have been tested as sterling. The earrings measure 30 mm from the top of the wires and 16 mm across, together they weigh 2.1 grams.
These wonderful earrings are as stylish and relevant today as they were the day they were made!
