When I was in design school, one of the things we were taught was that the human eye likes odd numbers of objects, three oranges, not four, three lobed leaves, three stone rings. Somehow we are just hardwired to look more fondly upon uneven things!
This trefoil shaped diamond ring is set with three winking Old European cut diamonds, which add up half a carat in stones. The ring was hand crafted in about 1900, probably in France. The face of this ring measures 4.5 mm north to south and 7.2 mm across, it sits 8 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.2 mm wide at the back of the band. This ring has been resized up to a 9.5 and could easily be sized down, I think it lost its hallmarks in resizing and we’ve acid tested it to verify the 18 karat gold content. The ring weighs 2.0 grams.
