Victorian Bloodstone Fob Seal Pendant Stork Carrying an Olive Branch

This Georgian fob was handcrafted in England around 1830. It features an intaglio bloodstone carved with a stork with an olive branch in its mouth, most likely a Heraldic design, perhaps for the family of Gibson. The 15 karat gold upper portion of this pendant showcases a bell shape with an engraved floral motif. This piece measures 32.1 mm north to south, 20.2 mm across, and 15.6 mm deep. It weighs 16.4 grams and has been acid tested.

It’s not dramatic, but it is bold, and it’s beautiful. Meant for hanging from a gentleman’s watch chain, but let’s be honest, it can do so much more that. String it on a gold chain, wrap it around the neck, layer it on the wrist, style it as a choker. See? The possibilities are endless.
