Okay, so it’s been firmly established that I have a very bad weakness for Art Nouveau jewelry (okay, Art Nouveau anything, really). This weakness gets worse as the jewelry gets better. So, you might just have to forgive me if I buy it more for me than for you. I’m mean, I’m always willing to share, but I could happily own this fantastic piece for the rest of my life, so if you don’t want to buy it, I’m perfectly fine with that. If you want to buy it, I’ll pull it out of my personal jewel box for you, but I might grumble just a little.
This fantastic, and I do mean fantastic, Art Nouveau piece started life out as a watch fob, I’ve been wearing it as an exquisite statement pendant. It is handcrafted in silver with gold washed accents. The three part pendant has a dog clasp at the top to hang it easily from a watch chain or a collar and at the drop end it has a round locket edged in gold. There is nothing about this piece that is not exquisitely hand crafted and it just showcases the very height of Art Nouveau design. The piece measures 145 mm long and 27.5 mm across at the wisest part. The locket opens to reveal two frames with covers. This fantastic bauble is fully finished front and back, it is hallmarked with marks that show it was made in Austria in the 1890s and has a makers mark of ‘FB’. This wonderful fob/pendant/locket weighs 27 grams.
