Victorian Engraved Gold Band Antique 1887

They were married at sundown. The light of the yellow sunset made the grass a golden shade. It was as though the very earth was celebrating their union, along with their friends and family gathered all around. The ring that he slipped on her finger that was as warm and golden as the setting sun. For decades to come, she would look at that ring and remember how his face looked, lit with joy and the gloaming golden light of the sun.

This antique engraved gold band was handcrafted in Birmingham, England, in 1887. It was made in 18 karat gold and features a scrolling leaf design with geometric details. The band width measures 7.2 mm wide and it weighs 6.5 grams. It has been fully hallmarked and bears the crown mark for England, the gold purity mark, “18”, the anchor mark for Birmingham, and the date letter, “n”. The maker’s mark reads, “W.M”. This ring is a size 8.75.

This simple and classic ring would be a wonderful and unique wedding ring. As long as there’s a sun to set, gold will never go out of style.
