One of the things that I love the most about Antique Jewelry is the history inherent in each piece. There is no real knowing where most of these piece that I sell originated from, no way to know who they belonged to, who wore them. The first owners of these things are long gone, there’s no asking them!
I fell just a little bit in love with this fantastic enamel portrait pendant. The woman painted onto this beautiful piece is so lovely and is shown in such exquisite detail, you can see the curls in her hair, the glint in her eye and the roses on her cheeks. This silver pendant hangs on a 9 karat gold ring and measures 52.2 mm from top to bottom and 27.5 mm across, ti is set with 20 small rose cut diamonds. This miniature portrait pedant is also a locket, the back is set with a very finely woven plat of hair and the golden initials ‘JD’, it weighs 11.5 grams.
This Georgian beauty was hand crafted in England in about 1820.
