I simply can’t help it, garnet jewelry is too handsome to resist! I found these gems in London, a city as addictive as the jewelry found within. This unique pair of earrings goes great with an aged bottle of red wine and wood-oven baked margarita pizza. Invite the whole town, let your hair down, and dance to some vintage vinyl.
These fantastic earrings were hand crafted in the late Georgian era, around 1830, and are set with garnets which are full cut but very shallow, showing their flat cut-roots. This pair of beauties are done in 15 karat gold and the large teardrop shaped center garnet measures 9.5x6.4 mm. The large stones are surrounded by round cut garnets which graduate from bottom to top, the wire tops are set with a trefoil of 3 garnets. These stones have a fabulous rich red color and are foil backed to reflect maximum light. These lovelies come in the old box that I bought them in, although I don’t think it’s original to these earrings. The earrings measure 15 mm from top to bottom and 3.4 mm wide, the weigh 5.6 grams. These unmarked beauties have been acid tested to verify their gold content.
These glorious beauties are some of my favorites; I think they give you that extra bit of flair!
