Antique Arts & Crafts Silver Mother of Pearl Turquoise Necklace

Whenever I visit London (and that’s pretty often), I always try and make time to have lunch at the cafe at Liberty’s department store. This beautiful Tudor style building on Great Marlborough Street is truly worth the visit. While you’re there, go to the top floor, in the back right corner of the store is a room devoted to Arts & Crafts antiques, some of them Liberty & Company originals. You might want to wear a necklace like this one, after all it couldn’t hurt to fit in with all these gorgeous Arts & Crafts antiques, could it?

This antique Arts & Crafts mother-of-pearl and turquoise silver necklace was handcrafted around the year 1900, in England. It features a motif with a flowing silver vine of leaves and berries. A small robin’s egg blue turquoise sits at the top of the foliage, while a smooth oval of mother-of-pearl helps to form the bottom. Another turquoise stone drops from below, giving this elegant piece just one more charming detail. The pendant feature measures 55.0 x 31.0 mm. This necklace is 16.75 inches in length and weighs 9.8 grams. It is unmarked and has been acid tested.

Is there anything more interesting than abalone? Nope! That’s why this necklace is a classic favorite, versatile and always stylish.
