Antique Mappin & Webb Gold Enamel Pendant Brooch in Original Box

It was pinned to the center of her ivory collared shirt, high up so no one could miss it. It was a whimsical pop of color covered in feminine charm, rendered in shades of blue and pink. It was a classic accessory that didn’t hold back. Why should it? She wore it proper and polished, like only a woman knows how. It wasn’t attention-seeking. It was however, not holding back.

This beautiful antique enamel pendant and brooch pin was handcrafted in London, around 1890. The oval pendant features an elegant floral bouquet of pink, white, and violet flowers on a blue background set in 18 karat gold. It measures 39.7 x 33.3 mm. The pendant brooch is hallmarked with the gold purity mark, “750”, and it bears a Mappin & Webb maker’s mark. This fabulous piece comes in its original brown box marked, “BY APPOINTMENT   MAPPIN & WEBB Ltd   SHEFFIELD & LONDON”. The box measures 67.7 x 67.5 x 20 mm. The pendant with the box weighs 54.0 grams. Mappin & Webb was founded in 1775 in England. It’s held Royal Warrants to the British Monarchs since 1897. And it still exists today.

This versatile little accessory may be worn as a brooch, or simply flip the clasp up and slip a matching chain through to wear it has a pendant!
