This luminous Silver Pill Box Pendant was worked in the Rococo style, with a baroque floral motif. Notice the asymmetry in the design, as well as the abundant curves and flourishes leading from one surprising detail to another. This exuberance is in character with Rococo. It was crafted in Repousse, meaning hand-hammered from the back, which was a preferred technique of many artisans through the centuries. This wonderful piece measures 47 mm from bale to bottom and 37.1 mm across, with a depth of 20.3 mm. It weighs 11.8 grams and has been carefully tested as silver. Most likely made in France around 1880.
