Centering this wonderful French plaque pendant are the twin symbols of Louis XVI, the flaming torch and a quiver or arrows. The torch is an ancient symbol for life, truth and regenerative power while the quiver of arrows signified Louis willingness to use force in the pursuit of justice; the two are bound together in Lilies, the flower of France and an olive branch, the symbol of peace. Surrounding this lovely piece is a Neoclassical frame with a bow on top.
