Reserved~Antique Belle Epoque Sapphire Diamond Cluster Ring
– Sold Out
Perhaps the most famous of sapphire engagement rings was the one worn by Princess Diana and currently worn by Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. Penelope Cruze, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and the impeccable Elizabeth Taylor all rocked Sapphires of various colors as their engagement rings. On the hardness scale, a diamond is a 10, but a sapphire is a 9, making it also uniquely qualified for everyday wear, perfect for that most important of rings!
Hand crafted in about 1910, this fantastic French sapphire and diamond cluster ring would make an excellent engagement ring, but it would be just as fun for any other reason, or no reason at all! The center sapphire measures 6x4.7x3.6mm and weighs about .85 carats, the 10 diamonds in the halo are 0.10 each or 1 carat in total weight, they are old European cut diamonds. Additionally a small diamond graces each shoulder of this wonderful Belle Époque era ring. The ring is crafted in 18 karat gold with platinum prongs for the diamond settings and is marked with French marks. The face of this ring measures 13.7 mm north to south and 7 mm across, it sits 7 mm off the finger and narrows to 2.2 mm wide at the back of the band. This size 6.5 ring weighs 4.9 grams.
