Antique Scottish Agate Brooch Pendant Silver Cross
$ 420.00
Sometimes the graphic design of a piece just grabs me by the eyes and won’t let go. Such was the case with this absolute beauty of a Scottish brooch pendant. It’s very unusual for me to see Tigers Eye gems in a Scottish piece and the deep green Bloodstone and bright red Carnelian make this beauty pop. Even though it was made in the 1880s, it looks like something of Mid-century Modern fame!
This piece of perfection showcases beautifully cut and inlaid stones in a graphic cross motif. Made in the 1880s, probably in England, pieces like this were exported to Scotland and bought by the tourists from England who took them home as a little memory of the Highlands. This particular brooch has a hanger and could be worn as a pendant, it measures 39.3 mm across and 38.4 mm north to south and weighs 10.6 grams. This unmarked piece tests as sterling silver.
