Victorian Navette Sapphire Diamond Cluster Ring

$ 6,980.00

This fantastic ring was hand crafted in the Victorian era, in about 1880. It is done in 18 karat gold and is set with multitudes of diamonds that twinkle like those desert stars, but the real beauty lies in the central blue sapphire. The natural, likely untreated, sapphire is a cushion cut beauty, Ceylon in origin and weighing approximately 1.06 carats. Surrounding the blue beauty are twenty Old Mine Cut diamonds which are F-H in color, VS2-I1 in clarity and together weigh about .34 carats. It is further set with four rose cut diamonds.

The face of this ring measures 17.55 mm from top to bottom and 8.86 mm across, it sits 5 mm of the finger and narrows to 1.7 mm at the back of the band. This unmarked ring has been carefully acid tested and tests as 18 karat gold. The ring is a size 9 and could be resized somewhat to suit. This ring weighs 4.16 grams. It comes with a full appraisal and has an insurance replacement value of $8,700.

This stunning ring has a long shape, perfect for those of us with long fingers. The stone changes from violet to cobalt depending on the light. A grand dame of a ring!
