Vintage Art Deco Opal Diamond Cluster Halo Ring 18k Gold Platinum
This ring reminds of me of something, of catching fireflies in mason jars under southern stars sparkling in an indigo sky. Of running after butterflies on a pale pink Sunday morning on my grandparents farm. Of those sticky summer nights where my mother had to yell out the back door to get us kinds to come back inside. It's like all those times your strawberry ice cream was melting and you had to eat it faster and faster so it wouldn't drip. It was carefree and easy. It was colorful and happy. Like this ring.
This Art Deco opal and diamond ring was crafted in England, in about 1925. A stunningly colorful oval opal lies in the center of this platinum topped, 18 karat gold ring. Cabochon cut, this opal weighs approximately 0.80 carats. The opal is encircled by 12 old European cut diamonds, all the diamonds together total about .36 carats. This ring is marked with 18CT and PLAT for the metal content. The face measures 13.8 mm from north to south and 11.8 mm from east to west. It is a size 7 but could be re-sized to suit and weighs 4.1 grams.
