The stones in this ring are all old European cut diamonds, probably cut around 1880-1910, and yet this ring surely was made in the 1950s or 60s, so how did these diamonds end up here? What is their back story? Were they part of a Belle Époque brooch, links of a Victorian diamond bracelet, drops of an Edwardian necklace, a single fabulous earring whose mate was lost somewhere along the way? I guess in truth neither you nor I will ever truly know where they came from, what their previous life was. All we know for sure is that now they are here, in this fantastic ring, sparkling away as they've done for over a hundred years! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e     Handcrafted in France, this 18 karat white gold ring features a bedazzling array of diamonds, thirty-one old European cut round diamonds that add up to over 3.5 carats in all. The center stone is about .4 carats, six of the surrounding stones are about .15-.18 carats each and the other twenty-four weigh about .1-.12 carats each. The diamonds form a lovely knot or bow motif and are truly all sparkle, all of the time. This ring would be easy to resize, currently it is a size 4.75, and it weighs 8.3 grams. The ring is marked on the back of the band with the French eagle head mark, assayed in Paris and has also been acid tested to verify that it is indeed, 18 karat gold. The face of this ring measures 19.5 mm from north to south, and 19.5 mm across, it narrows to 2 mm at the back of the band.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e     Personally, I just adore old cut diamonds, so my heart did a little pitter-patter when I came across this beauty set with all these old cut gems. It is set into a 22 karat gold mounting with four prongs and the mount sparkles and glows with even the slightest movement as it set with 36 brilliant cut diamonds that add up to about 1.26 carats in total diamond weight, the diamonds are E-G in color and VS1-I1. The ring is inscribed inside the band with the date: \"15.1.75\", European for the 15th of January, 1975. The face of the ring is 8.5 mm from north to south and sits 8.3 mm off the finger, it tapers to 2.8 mm at the back of the band. This ring is a size 7 and could be re-sized somewhat to suit, it weighs 6.5 grams. It is beautifully made with an eye to every detail. The pendant boasts a large bow at the top which is set with rose cut diamonds. Dangling from the bow is a wreath with a fantastic creamy teardrop shaped pearl at its center.  The wreath is bezel set with four full cut diamonds with lovely millgraining and many rose cuts for added sparkle and luster. The largest bottom diamond weighs approximately .4 carats, the other two on the sides are about .2 each and the smallest at the top is about .05. The total diamond weight for the full cut stones is about .85-.9 carats. There are an additional 108 rose cut diamonds set throughout. The wonderful, large creamy pearl measures 11.3 mm long and 7.4 mm across at the widest point. The pin stem screws off and there are two hangers at the top where a chain can be attached for the necklace conversion. The chain shown is these photos is a vintage pearl and diamond bead chain that may be available elsewhere on my website, please inquire for more information.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e     This pendant has been acid tested to confirm its platinum content.  There may be a French mark on it, but to be honest, I couldn’t make it out, so I’m not sure. The mount was stoneless, the diamond ringless, so I married them together to create the perfect recycled ring. The diamond is a symphony of light and color. An old European Cushion cut stone (cut around 1870-1880, I suspect) which weighs 1.26 carats out of the mount. I haven't had it graded, but it is a very, very clean and white stone. The facets are large and hand cut, creating a stone which sends off huge flashes of light in all colors of the spectrum. The mount is not too high, but holds the stone up high enough to allow tons of light to enter the stone for maximum effect. Made around 1920, it is currently a size 8.25, but can easily be sized. The stones are clean, but a little bit off color, which was typical for diamonds at this time, as good supply of whiter stones wouldn’t be found for a few more decades. The face of the diamond ring measures 7.5 mm north to south and 9.1 mm across, it sits 5.4 mm off the finger and narrows to 1 mm at the back of the band. At some point someone had a matching band made, it’s also a hand crafted ring and mimics the design of the shoulders of the diamond ring, the band is 3.3 mm wide, I don’t have a photo of it, I’m sorry, I will endeavor to add one soon. Together the rings weigh 7.3 grams, I’ve acid tested both of them and they are 18 karat gold, the band is a size 6 and the diamond ring is a size 6.25. It measures 56.7 mm from end to end and 16.6 mm high and weighs 11.8 grams. The process is difficult and time consuming, but when done correctly, the results are simply stunning. Very good enamelists could create color shades and variations such as those seen here in the fading from white to blue and peach to yellow on the flowers or or the green of the leaves Art Nouveau artists, with their affinity for naturalism in all things, were drawn to the realistic colors and ethereal glow of enamel and especially Plique-á-jour.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThis fantastic, large and fully hand crafted pendant is set with 5 Old European cut diamonds that add up to about 1.3 carats in total weight and 3 rich red-purple rubies that add up to about 1.1 carats in total. The pendant is crafted in 900 silver and is marked with ‘900’. It’s not possible to know exactly when or where this pendant was made but I would suspected a very safe estimate on the date to be 1900 and it may have been made Germany or France. It is a very high quality piece, extremely unusual and very large. it measures 81.8 mm long and 44.4 mm wide and weighs 16.1 grams.
