Antique Pearl Cat's Eye Chrysoberyl Ring 18k Gold

$ 1,400.00

It’s called chatoyancy, a rare optical trait which causes the light to reflect in a stone in a way which resembles the eye of a cat. We call it cat’s eye, a variety of chrysoberyl that is as beautiful as it is unique.

This antique Victorian pearl, diamond and chrysoberyl ring was handcrafted around 1890 in England. It was made in 18 karat gold and is marked ’18c’. A medium green oval cabochon chrysoberyl sits at the center of this 5 stone ring, measuring 4.3x4.3x2.9 mm for a total weight of .6 carats. On either side of the cat’s eye are two creamy white pearls which measure 4.2 mm each, between each stone are tiny rose cut diamonds for a bit of extra sparkle. The ring is a size 7.5 and it weighs 4.6 grams. The ring face measures 6.4 mm north to south.

Talk about a stunner! This ring is something I don’t want to give up, but I like to share, so here you go!
