Is this not the perfect summertime ring? I wore it on my week in Cape Cod, I loved looking at it as I rode my bike home from the beach, my towel in the basket on the front; hands grasping the handlebars gently, totally not in a hurry. I loved seeing the ring on my finger, glinting green and blue, like the waves I’d just walked out of. After an outdoor shower with a view of the setting sun, I put my feet up and sipped an ice cold glass of wine, admiring the glow the sun gave my skin. I slipped the ring off, this lovely ring with colors that perfectly matched the ocean, and smiled at the tan line. A day well jeweled and a day well spent.
This antique Arts & Crafts silver enamel ring was handcrafted in Chester, England in 1911. It’s a simple piece with a sleek design featuring an oval ring face of blue and green enamel set in silver on a size 5 band. This ring weighs 2.3 grams. It has been fully hallmarked and bears the lion mark for sterling silver, the origin mark for Chester, the date letter, “L” for 1911, and the maker’s mark, “C.H” for famous silver-smith Charles Horner.
This ring isn’t just for beachwear, but it sure looks good out there in the sun and the waves.
(A note from Victoria - I don’t wear rings into the sea, and really neither should you, it’s the easiest way to loose them!)
