Victorian 'Regard' Wedding Band Ring in 15k Gold Sz 8.75

Phrases like Regard and Adore are often seen in anachronistic jewelry made during the Victorian era, done in gems like ‘A(mehtyst)d(iamond)o(pal)r(ruby)e(merald)’, but the messages of these gemmier rings became super popular and in the later Victorian era they popped up all over, in script as well as spelled out in stones.

This wonderful wide wedding band ring, sometimes called a cigar band ring for obvious reasons, was made in England in about 1900 of 15 karat gold. The ring is not really able to be resized and comes it at a hair over a size 8.75, due to its width it may fit a bit smaller. The ring measures 6.4 mm north to south and is .9 mm thick, it is marked on the inside with ’15ct’ for the gold, each flat paneled side is engraved with a letter or alternating design. This would make a wonderful and sentimental recycled wedding band or a sweet, thoughtful gift. This ring weighs 4.5 grams.
