WWII Silver Ring US Army Air Corps French Made

$ 480.00

I have a tendency to try very hard to buy things that I’ve never seen before. I love the unusual, as long as it’s beautiful!

This unusual ring was hand crafted in France during or just after WWII, it bears the symbol of the US Army Air Corps, which was the aerial warfare service component of the US Army from 1926-1941. The ring has the prop and wings symbol at the front, and the sides are done in Oak leaves and acorns, a motif used to symbolize strength, wisdom and endurance.

This silver ring has the boars head mark which is the French silver fineness mark and is also marked “SS” (?) and ’835’ for the silver. The ring is a manly size 11.25 and measures 13 mm north to south at the front of the ring, 23.3 mm across and sits 4 mm off the finger, it narrows to 3.6 mm at the back of the band. This ring weighs 5.6 grams.
