Set with three cabochon blue turquoise gems the color of a warm cloudless day and two bright orange corals the color of a sunset sky, with diamonds scattered throughout like sparkling stars on a soft summer night; this ring is summer personified.
Handcrafted in the Victorian era, around 1880-90, this 18 karat gold ring is stunning in it’s unusual combination of stones. The ring measures 6.2 mm north to south and 18 mm across, it sits 4 mm off the finger. This ring is a size 7.25 and would be difficult to resize by more than a size or two, it weighs 2.9 grams. The ring is unmarked but has been carefully acid tested to verify the metal content. This ring has been reshanked at some point in it's life, it's well done but noticeable upon close inspection.
An English ring as sunny and warm as a summer day in Cornwall by the Sea!

It looks like it may have originated on the Isle of Skye, or been crafted by a skilled jeweler in Dublin, but this wonderful bangle with it’s Celtic motifs was actually made in Russia. I suppose I shouldn’t be too shocked, after all the Russians were masters when it came to enamel and this richly enameled bangle has a rich, vibrant color.
Handcrafted between 1898-1908, this silver beauty would fit a wrist of up to 6.75 inches around. The wonderful shape flares to 27.4 mm north to south at the top of the bangle and narrows down to 9.9 mm at the back. This piece is hallmarked on the tongue of the clasp with the Russian Kokoshnic mark and the Assay master’s initials, ‘VB’. This beautiful bangle is done in sterling silver and weighs 24.7 grams. The glowing enamel and superb engraving make for a stunning beauty and it has a bit of safety chain for added security. It does have one small ding to the reverse.

The Arts and Crafts movement was born out of a rejection of the industrial revolution. Artist felt that the mechanization of creating daily objects detracted from the enjoyment of daily life as a whole. Furniture, household items, even jewelry, once made completely by hand, were now being machined, assembly lined, destroying the unique nature of hand crafted goods. Much of the jewelry done in the Arts and Crafts style was done in silver, using gems that were inexpensive and easily sourced, but some of the firms of this era, working in this style, used gold, and I’m always a little extra thrilled when I come across these beautiful representations of the craft.
This fabulous ring was made by the firm of Murrle, Bennett & Company, an Anglo-German firm started by Ernst Murrle and J.B. Bennett, which produced pieces for retail by the store 'Liberty and Co.', famous London Arts and Crafts dealers. The company was in existence from 1886-1914, this ring was most likely made around 1900. It is completely hand crafted, of course, in 18 karat gold, and is set with a bright blue cabochon of turquoise which measures 7.7 x 6.9 x 3.3 mm. The overall face of this ring measures 14.4 mm north to south and 17 mm across, it sits 5.1 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.6 mm at the back of the band. This size 9 ring is marked inside the band with ‘18ct’ and ‘M.B.C’.

So realistic that you can almost smell the piney scent of the North Woods on the summer air, this fantastically detailed silver bracelet encircles your wrist with beautiful pine cones and needles.
Hand crafted in Europe around 1890-1900, this bracelet has a touch of the naturalist Art Nouveau feel to it. Seven plaques make up this 7.25 inch long bracelet; each plaque features three perfect little pine cones and ruffled edge. The bracelet has hallmarks but we weren’t able to track down where it’s from, possibly French, it tests as better than 800 silver but not quite sterling. Each plaque measures 16.3 mm north to south and 23.6 mm across and the bracelet weighs 31.2 grams. It has a firm clasp and a safety chain for added security.

She barely felt it when he slipped it on her finger. She was too mesmerized by his eyes, their bright blue hue sparkled with mischief as his finger drew circles on the inside of her palm. They were at the theatre, but neither of them had their eyes on the stage, they were preoccupied by each other, finally alone in the dark, able to touch for the first time. ‘I love you’, he mouthed it, and held her hand up as his eyes drifted to the ring newly alighted on her finger. She felt it now and looked down in surprise. The heart shone in the lights from the stage, it was the same color as his eyes.
This wonderful turquoise and pearl ring was hand crafted in Birmingham, England in 1960 of 9 karat gold. It is set with a smooth cut of turquoise in the shape of a heart, this lovely stone is likely Persian and shows no matrix on its face. The turquoise is surrounded by 12 creamy white pearls and the ring is hallmarked with English marks. The face of this ring measures 14.4 mm north to south and 14.2 mm across, it sits 7.5 mm off the finger. This ring is a 6.25 US and weighs 3.8 grams.

When Queen Victoria's Royal Court followed her to Scotland and Barlmoral Castle, the demand for Scottish jewelry in all forms flourished. The witches heart, with a tail that almost always twists to the right, had become a popular and very romantic motif in Scotland in the 17th century. Made to ward off witches and evil spirits, it was sold from small stalls or locked booths and is sometimes also called a 'Luckenbooth'. By the time this wonderful brooch was made during the Victorian era, these brooches were being given as betrothal pieces, often shown with the hearts intertwined, the message was that the receiver had ‘bewitched’ the giver!
This wonderful brooch was hand crafted in about 1880, it is beautifully detailed with blue, white, red and green enamel to the front. This piece is unmarked but tests as sterling silver. It was likely made in England. The brooch measures 40.3 mm north to south and 29.9 mm across and weighs 9.8 grams.

Watching Victoria, Poldark or Downton Abbey might make you think that living in the Victorian era would be glamorous. It may make you want to wander the streets of London in corsets and layered dresses amidst horse drawn carriages, to attend soirees and full out balls. However, quite apart from the crime and deprivation of the time, the diseases of this period would often wipe out whole families and even villages. I have little doubt that it was something like Typhoid or Cholera which took out the two ladies listed on this sweet and touching memorial ring.
Hand crafted in about 1868, this fantastic memorial ring is set with an oval of smooth cut Sardonyx and is wrapped in finely woven hair around the band. This wide band is fully engraved on the outside and on the inside is engraved with the inscription “Hannah Crichton died 9th Novr 1868” and “Agnes Nichol Crichton died 16th Novr 1868”. This ring is a size 8.25 US and cannot be resized. This wonderful, wide band ring measures 14.2 mm north to south at the face and 12.9 mm across, it is 9.8 mm at the back of the band. This ring is not hallmarked but does bear a makers mark of ‘HC & Co’, it has been carefully acid tested to verify the gold content of 15 karat gold. This ring weighs 6.7 grams.

The witches heart, with a tail that almost always twists to the right, was a piece of jewelry that had a purpose. Originally it was used as a talisman to ward off evil spirits, especially during childbirth and nursing. This style of heart had become so popular in Scotland in the 17th century that it was sold from small stalls or locked booths and so is sometimes also called a 'Luckenbooth'. By the time that this double Witches heart was made in the 19th century, the meaning had changed somewhat and these double hearts were often given as tokens of love, to indicated that the wearer had ‘bewitched’ the giver!
This fabulous Victorian double Witches heart brooch is beautifully enameled with rich matte light blue and white forget-me-not flowers making up each heart. It was hand crafted, most likely in England, in about 1860-70. This brooch does show some signs of having an old repair to the C catch, please look carefully at the photos to see this, it’s quite stable and I wouldn’t touch it as is it’s really unnecessary. This brooch measures 30.8 mm top to bottom and 28.7 mm across, it weighs 4.5 grams. This unmarked brooch acid tests as 15 karat gold. This wonderful brooch can also easily be worn as a pendant.
I love a good witches heart brooch, but I was over the moon to find this unusual enameled one with such a sweet sentimentality to it!

For a hundred reasons, I never dreamed I would find myself here, with you, in your fields. And I certainly wasn’t dressed for it. But sometimes the loss of a loved one brings drifted souls together again, and back to our roots. Wearing black for the occasion, I chose a repousse silver bangle for my wrist because it reminded me of Father, now gone, who gently pushed me and helped shape me into a strong flower.
I never knew you saw it, what I had become. You were always so willful and handsome. I was always striving to get somewhere else. Yet here I was, back home in the valley, with my high heels kicked aside and bare feet nestling into the grass beside your incredible garden. Even on a day this heavy, the green beans needed to be picked. I thought of Dad’s bold eyes every time the bracelet sparked in the sun. We harvested the hot afternoon away only breaking to drink sweet tea on your porch. The warm breeze felt so good. Your gaze even better.
This antique Victorian silver bangle was handcrafted around 1880. Using a repousse technique, the flower design in low relief wraps all the way around this stunning bangle, which has a warm hue to it as well. This shimmering bracelet is 25.8 mm wide and weighs 30.5 grams. It’s oval in shape and will hug a wrist up to 7 inches. It bears three marks, ‘STANDARD’, ‘SILVER’ and the letter ’N’. It has been acid tested.

This fluttery Butterfly is so full of color and life that I almost want to follow it along to see where it will land. Perhaps on a flower? Perhaps on your coat? Take it along and see for yourself.
The English firm of John Atkins and Sons was well known for their beautiful enamel work and they were especially known for fabulous butterflies like this one. This lovely lady is enamel over sterling silver and has a wonderful play of color. It’s a larger one, measuring 45 mm north to south and 64.8 mm across. It weighs 19 grams and is marked to the reverse with ‘Sterling Silver’ and the makers mark ‘JA & S’. Made in England around 1915-1920.

It was the first warm sunny day of spring, with flirtation in the air and a strong desire to get out and socialize setting in. Two old friends grab an outdoor table at a familiar hangout, to fully exhale the long winter and share a bottle of Rose. One of them bubbles over with words while moving her arms generously about the air. Her dear friend wears a genuine smile and listens intently, the palm of her hand at her chin and elbow on the table. She didn’t have to say anything really to equal her companion’s spirit. Her bangle was spectacular, warming on her arm in the renewing sun.
This stunning bangle has a touch of it all - a bountiful repousse floral motif, strong lines, warm textures and glowing silver. Handcrafted around 1900, this antique Victorian silver bangle is oval in shape, 24 mm wide and weighs 33.5 grams. It will fit a wrist up to 7.75 inches and is fitted with a safety chain. This fantastic bracelet bears the triple crown hallmark next to “S” for domestic silver.
Every good listener deserves a bangle this lovely and generous!

They called it 'La Belle Époque', translated as ‘the Beautiful Era’, and it's as well they should have. From about 1871 to the beginning of World War I in 1914, peace and prosperity flourished throughout Europe and especially settled in France and England. The arts flourished, money flew, it was truly a golden age. This ring was made then, there, in that Paris of the early 20th century, amidst that optimism, that joie de vivre!
Completely hand crafted by a master of the art, this ring is a modified target type ring, set with row upon alternating row of glittering white diamonds and rich blue sapphires. The 17 diamonds add up to about 1.2 carats in total and the two rings of calibre cut sapphire are about .7 carats total. The ring is 18 karat gold in the back and the top stones are all set in platinum, this kind of 18 karat and platinum construction is very typical of the Belle Époque (which corresponds to the English Edwardian Era), as jewelers didn't really start using all platinum construction until the 1920's (with some exceptions). This ring has a fairly worn hallmark, but it is the eagles head assay mark which tells us that it is French and contains 18k gold. The ring is currently a size 7 and measures 20 mm north to south and 14.5 mm across, it sits 5 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.3 mm at the back of the band. Made in Paris, France around 1910.
This beautiful ring from the beautiful era would make a precious gift for any occasion or a stunning right hand ring that could be worn from blue-jeans to ball gowns!

It was a perfect summer morning. They locked arms and took to the bustling streets of their neighborhood en route to the farmer’s market. He sampled buttery cheeses, prosciutto and ripe melon while she filled her basket with herbs; basil and rosemary fulfilling all her senses. She added to her carry a golden baguette, cucumbers, sweet peppers and squash. With a gentle laugh, he took the basket from her arms knowing she had yet to buy what she purposely came for - flowers. Arms now free, she joyfully filled them with zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons and dahlias, plus a sunflower or two or three. She beamed at all the colors and petals, cradling the fresh cut blooms in her arms. At that moment, the silver cuff bracelet on her wrist caught his eye as it shimmered against her sunkissed skin. Without hesitation, he leaned in for a kiss. For happiness is the pursuit of beauty.
This antique Victorian bangle bracelet was handcrafted in 1883 Birmingham, England. It has fantastic movement, thanks to the asymmetric composition and etched floral motifs. The back is smooth. It was for her, from him. The sweet roses, the scrolling stems, the delicate size and textures; they were all for her wrist, and the caress of her tender fingertips. The subtle shimmer was to catch her eyes and make her lips smile. And it did, for a long time, it most certainly did.
This antique Victorian silver bangle was handcrafted in or around 1881 as indicated by the inscription. Light and lovely, this sentimental bracelet is 26.5 mm wide and weighs 34.4 grams. It is very comfortable to wear, fitting a wrist up to 7 inches. There are no marks, except the inscription, and it has been acid tested. Sure, you could buy her a diamond solitaire, I like those, they’re pretty. A three stone makes a classic engagement ring, too, but why not go out on a limb? Go for something as unique and original as she is, go for something girly, the kind of ring that Royalty uses to propose. A ring that will garner every gaze in the room.
This wonderful Edwardian ring was hand crafted around 1915. It showcases a stunning round faceted, rich blue sapphire which weighs about 1.1 carats (6.7 x 6.7 x 3.4 mm) surrounded by a halo of sparkling Old European cut diamonds. There are 11 diamonds, each weighs approximately .08 carats for a total diamond weight of .88 carats. The ring measures 13.2 mm north to south and 13.3 mm across, it is a lower profile ring and sits 5 mm off the finger. This ring is a size 6.5 and weighs 2.7 grams. The ring is unmarked and tests as 18 karat gold.
A ring like this is a staple of your jewelry wardrobe, it can be worn everyday with everything from Levi’s to Louboutin’s.

We decided to meet on Wednesday afternoon in the Duke of Wellington, a pub on London’s famed Portobello Road. The pub is mostly empty when we go in to order pints and snacks, it’s a cool rainy afternoon and the road, which bustles with activity much of the week, feels empty today. I’m sipping a cider and listing to the men talk politics while waiting for a friend; we’ll head up to her closed shop to do a little browsing after we eat (private shopping, lucky me!). She walks in looking fantastic as usual, a classic English beauty, she rocks heels and trainers equally well. Today she’s rocking these earrings and I can’t take my eyes off of them from the moment she enters the pub.
“Don’t worry, Victoria”, she smiles, “they’re for you!”
These fabulous earrings will make any outfit from casual to black tie. Handcrafted in 18 karat gold, they are set with 36 creamy white pearls, each 2 mm in diameter and further set with 14 Old European cut diamonds. The center diamonds weigh about .1 carats each and the other 12 diamonds are rose cuts. The stars around the diamonds are accented with blue enamel. These gorgeous earrings are most certainly made from another piece of jewelry, but not by me. Likely they were buttons or maybe cufflinks, they make fabulous earrings. The pendants were made around the same time the Duke of Wellington opened, in the late 1850s. The earrings have post backs now and from the post to the bottom they measure 28.6 mm and are 17.3 mm across. Together these earrings weigh 3.4 grams. These beauties are unmarked, but have been acid tested to verify their metal content.

Sitting in the glassed-in sunroom of an English Garden flat is really the best place to buy your jewelry. Nothing does as right by jewels as sunlight. I was sitting at a round glass dining table in such a room, in such a flat, on such a sunny day when the lovely lady who was showing me her wears carefully unwrapped this stunningly beautiful pendant. I immediately held it up in my hand to get the full effect of the ‘light of day’, plaque á jour enamel. Gorgeous.
This fantastic pendant was hand crafted in 18 karat gold and features a praying Virgin Mary at the center, she is surrounded by blue plique windows and clusters of red plaque flowers. The plique does have a little few areas of damage, as they so often do, most notably there is a small bit of enamel missing at the very top and there is a very tiny hole at the bottom right, I was happy to forgive it because overall it’s a very special piece. The top bale is marked with the French eagle’s head mark and a French makers mark. The pendant measures 30.4 mm north to south and 18.6 mm across, it weighs 2 grams.
Just a note, the dark portion of enamel at the bottom of the pendant in the first couple of photos is from the poster tack that we use in shooting our pictures, there’s no damage or discoloration in this area.

A diamond is, at its essence, just carbon, very specific and well-organized carbon. It’s pressurized and heated for a billion years, buried hundreds of miles beneath the grassy meadows and birch tree forests of the Earth’s surface. A deep-source volcanic eruption tears a piece of the mantle, where this carbon sits, and carries it toward the surface. It cools. We discover it, we polish it, we cut it. Then it deservingly gets adorned onto a sapphire and gold ring that somebody very lucky will wear while sipping Beaujolais as these stones, full of history and rareness, glisten in the daylight.
This fabulous Victorian sapphire and diamond ring was handcrafted in England around 1900. It features three old European cut diamonds patterned with two square sapphires. The glimmering diamonds weigh approximately 1.63 total carats and the sapphires weigh approximately 1.12 total carats. The band width narrows to 3 mm at the back. This ring bears no marks and has been acid tested. It’s a size 9.25 and weighs 6.8 grams.

You know when you’re walking at twilight and the snow glitters by the light of the moon? Or when you wake up with the morning and you see dust glimmering in the sun’s rays? Or when you’re sitting at the edge of the pier, overlooking the lake, and the water seems to shine on for eternity against the setting sun? Yeah, this ring is kind of like that - but better. It’s a decadent never ending show of sparkle. Honestly, it’s like having your cake and eating it, too.
This phenomenal antique sapphire and diamond ring was handcrafted around 1870. At the center sits a bright blue sapphire, round, faceted, and oh so pretty, set in sterling silver. It measures 7 x 6.65 x 4.5 mm and weighs approximately 1.5 carats. Surrounding this sapphire are 60 diamonds, 30 rose cuts and 30 old European cut stones, all set in sterling silver. The old European cut diamonds weigh approximately 2.1 carats in total. Among the old cuts are a couple of brilliant cut stones that are clearly replacements for stones lost along the way. The rose cuts are patterned between small and larger stones, measuring between .8 – 1.5 mm in diameter. The ring face measures 16 mm north to south and 16 mm across, it sits 8 mm off the finger and narrows to 4.4 mm at the back of the band. An engraved scrolling motif encircles nearly the entire shank which is made in 18 karat gold. This ring weighs 7.2 grams and is a size 4.75 US, it could be re-sized somewhat to suit. There are no marks and it has been acid tested.
The epitome of glamour, right there on your finger, giving the neighbors something to talk about. It’s all in a glance, and this ring will keep them glancing over and over and over.

I needed something comfortable, but not too casual. Something timeless, but never trendy. So, I slipped into this ring, it’s a relaxed fit, like a leather jacket for the finger. The sapphire is the goldilocks of scandal, the ideal balance of rebellion and going with the flow. It gives them just the right amount of something to talk about, but not too much. Rumors should stay mysterious, after all.
This Belle Epoque ring was handcrafted in France around 1900. A beautiful sapphire is accented with three diamonds, all set in 18 karat gold. The round sapphire measures 4.5 x 4.5 x 3 mm and weighs approximately .44 carats. The old European cut diamond measures 4.3 x 3.8 x 2.9 mm and weighs approximately .28 carats. The other two diamonds are rose cut stones. The ring face measures 9 x 10.5 x 4.4 mm off the finger and the band width is 1.4 mm at the back. This ring is a size 6 and it weighs 1.8 grams. It bears a faded French maker’s mark and has been acid tested.
A ring like this gets noticed, in all the good ways of course. For an engagement, an anniversary, or that gift you give yourself because you most certainly deserve it, you’ll be satisfied, I promise.

Don’t be surprised if hailing a taxi seems a little easier, or if holding a stemmed glass feels a bit more luxurious. It’s the little things that get noticed when wearing something this glamorous. Oh, would you look at that, there’s a table open at The Ivy. Coincidence? I think not.
This antique ruby and diamond ring was handcrafted in 18 karat gold. It’s a French bypass or ‘toi et moi’, ring, made around 1900. It consists of three pink rubies and four rose cut diamonds. The round faceted rubies weigh a total of approximately .28 carats. The ring face measures 7.9 x 11.3 x 3.7 mm off the finger and the band width is 1.4 mm at the back. This piece bears a partial French mark and has been acid tested. It’s a size 9.25 and weighs 2.1 grams.
Bypass rings are a sentimental concept, the band never comes together in the front, representing individuality and partnership. It’s a symbol of love and fluidity.

Here is a wonderful and cheeky rooster who is beautifully hand crafted. The body of the bird is created from a large, natural, Baroque Pearl. His tail is set with a spray of rubies, diamonds and sapphires; and his head is further set with rubies, sapphires and emeralds. The brooch is fully engraved with fanciful and realistic details down to the toes on its perfect little feet.
This piece is marked on the back of the leg, but I was not able to make these marks out. It was most likely made in France in the 1940s, at a time when these brooches were highly desirable and created by many of the important jewelry houses. Buccellati, Cartier, Yard and Tiffany all crafted brooches in this genre, many with a pearl as the central body of the animal. It's quite possible this brooch was created by one of these important houses. It's beautifully crafted, note how the back is left open to reveal the back of this magnificent, 60 carat natural pearl.
The body of this piece tests as 18 karat gold and the diamonds are set in platinum. The pin stem has a trombone style clasp. The brooch measures 55 x 53x 17 mm and weighs 21.56 grams.
This piece has been expertly appraised by an independent appraiser and has a value of $15,000. Please inquire for a full copy of the detailed appraisal.

Vintage holds a special place in my jewelry repository. Take this necklace for example, it’s a bohemian piece with cultural influences. It’s reminiscent of Pop Art and depicts the trend with cool colors in shades of blue. It gives off psychedelic vibes with the fully stylized profile of a woman centering the design. It’s a bold necklace with the perfect amount of eccentricity and I’m glad I get to share it with you.
This wonderful vintage silver enamel and glass bead necklace was handcrafted in Edinburgh in 1977. The pendant showcases a blue and teal woman in profile design while the chain boasts a collection of blue glass beads. The chain measures 19.5 inches and the drop pendant measures 64.6 x 28.3 mm. It weighs 10.3 grams. It bears the date letter, “C”, the origin mark for Edinburgh, the lion mark, and the maker’s mark, “CBW”. The chain bears the silver fineness mark, “925”.

William Hair Haseler was a renowned silversmith during the turn of the (last) century. Born in Birmingham, England in 1821, he founded his company in 1870. It specialized in gold and silver work. At around the same time, the famous department store of Liberty and Company opened and quickly became a must-shop hub of world goods that promoted the Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts styles. In 1898, Haseler and Liberty created a formal partnership and launched the Cymric line using freelance designers. They’re partnership was a natural fit as both companies held an affinity for the natural grace of leaves, flowers, and ornamental lines which graced the two concurrent movements. After Haseler’s death, the partnership continued until 1926.
This rare and fabulous Arts & Crafts silver enamel necklace was handcrafted around 1900 by William Hair Haseler, whose pieces were retailed by Liberty and Company. It features a drop pendant with a blue and green foliate motif that measures 32.5 x 27 mm. The chain measures 15 inches in length. This antique necklace weighs 7.2 grams. The pendant bears the “SILVER” hallmark and the maker’s mark which reads, “WHH”. The chain bears the silver fineness mark, “STERLING”.
As a lover of Arts and Crafts styles, from furniture and architecture to gems and art, I was totally surprised and delighted to find this necklace in a stall at antiques fair in the middle of a horse field in the North of England. I simply had to bring it home. For you.

This stunning brooch was made by the firm of Murrle Bennett and Company, an Anglo-German firm started by Ernst Murrle and J.B. Bennett, which produced pieces for retail by the store 'Liberty and Co.', the famous (and my personal favorite) London Arts and Crafts dealers. It’s the type of jewelry I can’t get enough of. There’s something so elegant and timeless about the stylized foliate forms, the usage of semi-precious stones, and the abstract motifs clearly influenced by nature. I can see myself now, with this brooch at the center of a white button-up blouse, faded jeans and pair of booties, just in time for fall.
This lovely Murrle and Bennett Company gold brooch was handcrafted in England around 1910. It’s an Art Nouveau pin with a turquoise at the center with a natural pearl drop set in 15 karat gold. It measures 30 x 26 mm and weighs 4.9 grams. It bears the gold purity mark, “15CT” and the maker’s mark, “MBCO”.
The company was in existence from 1886-1914. After World War I, the company was renamed White Redgrove & White. Murrle Bennett and Company jewelry is now highly sought-after and widely collected.

When the weather starts to turn cold and the leaves turn orange you can find me in a cabin tucked away in the northern woods. I’m wrapped in a white wool sweater while this necklace decorates my neck. I have a typewriter out with a cappuccino, or two, next to it. The fire crackles. The wind rattles the panes. When I pause, as I finish a paragraph, I reach for this pendant, and twirl it between my fingers. It’s like a muse, the cure to writer’s block, in a stylish little package.
This truly stunning Victorian pendant was handcrafted in England around 1890. It showcases a red Tudor Rose set with a single pearl and surrounded by green leaves and a semi-circle of pearls, 11 in total decorate it’s face. The pendant was made in the shape of a heart and is a truly regal piece in fantastic condition. The brooch/pendant is crafted 15 karat gold, it measures 41.7 x 20.3 mm and it weighs 8.6 grams. This versatile piece can be transformed into a fashionable brooch by bending the clasp down and removing the leaf bale, it can also be worn as an enhancer on a strand of pearls or beads.
I’m inspired by a plethora of beautiful things. Jewelry is the ultimate afflatus, an expression of mood and mindset. This timeless and spectacularly wrought piece is my latest obsession.

I was strolling through the narrow cobblestoned streets just north of Paris, in a small town not used to strangers. I found a sandwich shop and in my best broken French ordered ‘un sandwich avec jambon et fromage’ and a glass of Rosé. The man I ordered from was kind, he moved slowly, enjoying the summer’s heat. The small patio overlooked a valley of clay roofed houses and intertwining streets. I found a table and sat. As I held onto the stem of the clear glass, my bracelet caught the sun’s light, making it glow like a cave of wonders. I sipped the wine, tasting the notes of strawberry and basil, letting the flavors linger on my tongue. I noticed how my wrist looked like the sun itself, giving life to earth, making the heavens envious. I also noticed the view and the toughness of my baguette sandwich, and how the wine gave tastes to the bread that could only be found here, right here, in this place, in this moment.
This antique Edwardian heart padlock link bracelet was handcrafted in England in 1902 of rich and glowing 18 karat gold. It measures 8.25 inches in length and weighs 30.4 grams. My heart belongs to the Roaring Twenties. Between F. Scott Fitzgerald, T.S. Eliot, Louis Armstrong, and the Charleston, I know I was born decades too late. Ladies donned flapper dresses with t-strap heals and beaded headbands. Jewelry was minimal, so they had to make it count. I would have worn a long pearl necklace to accentuate my bob and on my hand would be this dazzling ring, sparkling as I adjust my silk fringe wrap.
This is a ring that glitters and glitters and glitters. This antique piece was handcrafted around 1915-20. It’s a five-stone diamond platinum stunner on a size 8.25 US band that weighs 4.1 grams. The largest diamond is at the center, measuring 5.1 x 4.6 x 3.3 mm and weighing .55 carats. Altogether, the Old European cut stones weigh approximately 2.2 carats. The ring face measures 6.4 mm north to south and 21 mm across the face and sits 5.4 mm off the finger, it narrows to 1.4 mm at the back of the band. There are no marks and it has been acid tested.
This engagement ring (or wedding band, or anniversary ring or just because you deserve it ring) is to die for! It’s elegant and charming, glittering and simple. She’ll love it!

In 1890, the Birmingham Jewellery and Silversmiths’ Association opened a school specifically for jewelry making on Vittoria Street in Birmingham. More than 125 years later, the Birmingham School of Jewellery is still there, educating students in the worlds of silversmithing, horology, gemology, and more. The school is found at the heart of the city’s Jewellery Quarter, now an urban center with a creative atmosphere. The jewelry trade was once considered the most lucrative career in Birmingham. Apprentices were required to attend the Birmingham School of Art, in which, the branch of Jewellery and Silversmithing was found. The Jewellery Quarter once produced 40% of the UK’s jewelry. It is where many technological advancements in the world of jewelry making were born.
This antique Arts & Crafts silver turquoise drop necklace was handcrafted in England by the Birmingham School around the year 1910. The largest turquoise is a robin egg blue shade with metallic matrices throughout. It’s oval en cabochon cut and oh so lovely. The center turquoise is round en cabochon and the bottom turquoise is oval en cabochon. This necklace was made in silver on a 17.75-inch chain. The drop measures 65 x 25 mm. This piece weighs 9.1 grams. It has been acid tested.
This unapologetically chic necklace is hard for me to give up. It goes so well with a white t-shirt and jeans, and that sundress I wear all the time, and that low cut black dress…

You know how every once in a while a color that you really love will come into fashion and you just have to buy every sweater and jacket and tee that you can while that color is hot because you know that it might not come around again for a while? Well, this is my color. Not turquoise blue, Zircon blue. The color of my favorite cashmere sweater, the color of the water off St. Barth's on a clear sunny day.
I love a Blue Zircon, any blue zircon, but I fell especially hard for this stunning Art Deco example. Highly refractive, like diamonds, blue zircons are one of the most sparkly of gems, a color so bright and rich it makes you reach for your sunglasses. Set in platinum, and supported by four old European cut diamonds, this vintage ring likely dates to about 1920. The zircon measures 10.5 x 7.3 x 5.4 mm and weighs about 4.8 carats, the four diamonds have a total carat weight of .4 carats. The face of this ring measures 11.2 mm north to south and 20 mm across, it sits 6 mm off the finger. This wonderful ring is a size 9 weighs 2.4 grams.
If you are looking for that special 'something blue' for your wedding day, look no further, this instant heirloom is sure to have a special place on the fingers of brides in your family for generations to come.
A note from Victoria: Zircons are susceptible to color change from strong UV light and extreme temperature, so be caution and don’t wear your zircon in a tanning booth or to get a gel manicure, make sure that it you get work done on your ring you tell the jeweler that the stone can’t take heat.

On my last trip over the pond I found this silver masterpiece at Portobello market on a snowy Saturday morning. I’ll be honest with you, I almost missed it as I was bee-lining for a café (a girls gotta have her coffee, after all) when I stopped dead in my tracks and bought this beauty. I wore it that night with a light blue cashmere dress and knee high fleece-lined boots and my, oh my, did the compliments come my way.

I was on a boat in the Mediterranean, some might even call it a yacht, the sky was cliché blue and the company was witty and full of wine. He came over to me.
Victoria, that necklace, it’s divine.
It’s vintage.
Always shaking things up, aren’t we?
Obviously.
He wandered over to the captain to chat about seafaring and the weather. I went to edge of the deck. The water was more perfectly cliché than the sky. What a delightful day.

Shortly thereafter, she started designing jewelry for Liberty. This turquoise colored enameled flower brooch was one of those pieces. It measures 28.7 x 18 mm. It features a faceted round amethyst at the center, measuring 4.8 x 4.8 x 3.4 mm and weighing approximately .37 carats. This stone pairs perfectly with the bright blue enamel that cover the silver flower petals. It weighs 5.0 grams and has been acid tested.
Jessie M King was born in Scotland, in 1875. She studied at the Glasgow School of Art, and, in 1905, became a member of the historic Glasgow Society of Lady Artists. She was influenced by the Glasgow Style movement that began in the late 1880s. Eventually, she ended up influencing the movement itself, and was known as one of the Glasgow Girls. During this period of enlightenment, women artists had a short era of international visibility. They inspired other women in terms of art, women’s suffrage, and women’s equality.
This brooch was designed and crafted during this time period, and would be a stylish addiction to any art history buff’s jewelry box!

Jane Austen owned a turquoise ring that was made during the 1760s. It was a simple and elegant 9 karat gold ring featuring a bezel set cabochon cut turquoise stone. There is mystery regarding how it came into her possession. She may have inherited the ring, it could have been a gift, perhaps from a gentleman caller, only she knew. The famous author lived from 1775 to 1817, during the Regency Era. In her novels, she describes a variety of jewelry in beautiful ways, noting its importance in English culture and in individual sentiment. This ring would have been befitting of Austen’s status as a member of the Hampshire gentry.
This turquoise ring was made approximately 100 years after Austen’s, during the Victorian Era. It’s paralleled in mystery, as there are no marks. But it’s not lacking in beauty and style. This ring was made for a lady to wear, and to be seen, at balls, or in town.
This antique turquoise solitaire gold ring was handcrafted in Europe around 1880. It’s a simple ring with a robin’s egg blue oval turquoise set in 18 karat gold on gradated shoulders. This piece is a size 7 and it weighs 2.8 grams. The ring face measures 7.4 x 12 x 4.7 mm off the finger with a band width of 2 mm.

This vintage Norman Grant silver necklace was handcrafted around 1978 in Scotland. It measures 21 inches in length while the round pendant measures 43.2 mm in diameter. It showcases a pink ‘Mackintosh’ rose with green leaves, a nod to his fellow Scotsman and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This piece has been fully hallmarked. It bears the date letter “D”, the symbol for Edinburgh, the lion mark, and the Norman Grant maker’s mark, “NG”. It weighs 13.1 grams. It has been acid tested.
Norman Grant was born in 1943 in Forres, Scotland. He grew up by the water, an inspiration that can be seen in much of his earlier work. He worked with silver and enamel for many years, using flower motifs, trees, clouds, shells, seaweed, insects, and natural plant structures. His pop art work was widespread as it matched the style ethos of the time. And yet, his work wasn’t gimmicky, it was original. During the 1970s, he worked with psychedelic shapes and candy colors that were worn by celebrities such as Bill Connelly, Mick Jagger, and Elton John. The story of his design history continues as he still works today, but his retro era work is the most sought after.
This is a piece that I found hard to give up as it contains a history of art and culture. It’s a pretty piece that would look darling around the neck of any jewelry collector.

This antique Bernard Instone carnelian ring was handcrafted in England around 1910. A round cabochon carnelian sits at the center of a scrolling floral setting on a ring face that measures 16.2 x 16.8 x 6.5 mm off the finger. This ring is a size 7 and it weighs 2.9 grams. It bears the mark, “STERLING SILVER”.
At just 12 years of age, Instone won a scholarship to the Birmingham School of Jewellery where he studied under Arthur Gaskin, learning silversmithing and jewelry making, excelling at everything he did. After school, he went on to work with Paul Cooper, he studied in Berlin with Emil Lettre, and by 1913 he was teaching at Vittoria Street. In 1920, he set up his own works called Langstone Silver Works. He also created pieces for other jewelers such as Sibyl Dunlop using her hallmark. Instone typically didn’t sign his own work but his pieces are easily recognizable. Liberty & Co was finally able to work with him by the 1940s after putting in 25 years trying to convince him.

For centuries, coral was believed to protect the wearer, from evil, from sickness, and from pain. It’s been used decoratively since classical times. During the Georgian Era, coral was typically filed smooth and strung onto a necklace. Children of means would often wear a coral necklace, given to them from a loved one, to keep them safe. Of course, coral, especially red coral – the rarest and most expensive – was also fashionable. Jane Harley, the Countess of Oxford, wore a string of red coral around her neck. It was in vogue for the rich and the powerful. And honestly, I’m not convinced it ever went out of style.
This Victorian era, antique silver coral and glass ring was handcrafted in Austro-Hungary around 1890. A beautiful oval cabochon coral sits at the center of a halo of color matched red glass, set in silver. The oval ring face measures 18.2 x 14 x 7.7 mm off the finger. This ring is a size 7.75 and it weighs 4.4 grams. In traditional Austro-Hungarian fashion, this ring is 360 degrees of style! The back of the ring face is engraved with a floral motif and the band features engraving work all the way around. There are no marks and it has been acid tested.
This is a gorgeous find! Bright in color and bold in design, it’s perfect for that finger of yours.

The idea of the heart shape being linked to the concept of love developed in the 15th century. The shape itself dates back further and has been identified in paintings, texts, and other media. However, it probably wasn’t the heart that these artists were conceptualizing. This shape stemmed from the shape of fig leaves, pears, and ivy leaves, which were traditionally associated with fidelity.

He stood under a sprawling old oak tree, it’s spreading branches shading the guest in rows of white chairs. She didn’t see the guest, didn’t see the tree, the blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds. She only had eyes for him, and he for her.
These elegant antique diamond and pearl drop earrings were handcrafted around 1915. They’re a beautiful set of graceful design, set with 58 Old European cut diamonds and four spherical pearls in platinum over 18 karat gold. The incredibly sparkly diamonds weight approximately 1.5 carats all together. Each of the white lustrous pearls measure 3.5 mm in diameter. Each earring measures 38 x 14 x 3 mm, and together they weigh 6.4 grams. There are no marks and they have been acid tested.
Diamonds and pearls go well with tee shirts and little black dresses, but these instant heirlooms would also look fabulous under a sprawling oak with a long white dress and the love of your life.
