Antique Victorian 18k Gold Ivy Motif Wedding Band

A lovely Ivy pattern graces this fully hallmarked Edwardian English wedding band. Ivy was often used by the Victorians to represent the phrase "I Cling to Thee". English Ivy was seen everywhere, covering some buildings and estates so fully that it was hard to tell if the house was holding up the Ivy or the Ivy holding up the house. Just like a good relationship, they seemed symbiotic.

This ring is hand crafted of 18 karat gold and is 8 mm wide and 1.3 mm thick. It is hallmarked with a makers mark and with the date and letter marks for having been made in Birmingham, England in 1914. The pattern is a bit rubbed from years of wear, but still retains much of it's detail and all of it's charm. It is currently a size 7.25 and I would not necessarily recommend sizing it although it could be done, you would likely be able to spot the size mark. It weighs 6.7 grams.
