Victorian Scottish Agate Silver Bracelet Heart Lock Pebble Jewelry

$ 1,550.00

Pebble jewelry, like this bracelet, had been made in Scotland for hundreds of years before Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought a castle at Balmoral and made them a trend. They were a beautiful way to express one’s sense of self. With the help of railways in the British Isles, tourism grew and many visited the Highlands for its beauty and its connection with the Queen. Travelers made their way to Scotland and they brought back pebble jewelry, made with distinctive native stones, like agate, and decorated with engraved designs, just like the flowers on this gorgeous bracelet.

This antique Scottish silver agate bracelet was handcrafted around 1880. It showcases an array of orange, brown and peach colored agate stones carved into beautiful flowers, like a bouquet for the wrist, held together with a sentimental silver heart lock set with a burnt orange agate. This piece measures eight inches in length and weighs 49.6 grams. Each of the five agates measures 30 mm in diameter and the lock measures 32.3 x 17.3 x 6 mm. It bears no marks and has been acid tested.

This agate bracelet is your next favorite fashion statement, a substantial piece for the wrist. It belongs there, intriguing and beautiful, just like you.
