Ancient Roman Coin Austro-Hungarian Ring 14k Gold

You can sit down and look up the latest of everything on the internet using just a small devise you hold in the palm of your hand. I wonder what the ancient Roman’s would have thought of such a devise? In many cases, those under the rule of the Roman Empire wouldn’t even know that their Emperor had changed until they saw the image of a new Emperor on a coin, some times not until years later.

This ancient Roman copper coin dates to about 27 BC, and has been wonderful set into a golden ring, which in and of itself is an antique. The ring is hand crafted in 14 karat gold and while it bears no hallmarks, based on the style and craftsmanship it dates to about 1890, and was most likely made in Austro-Hungary. The ring is a size 7.75 and weighs 6.1 grams, it measures 18.6 mm across and north to south and sits 3.5 mm off the finger. It has been carefully acid tested to determine gold content.

If you need a reminder to slow down, maybe a look at this, over four thousand year old, coin might do the trick.
