Antique Arts & Crafts Enamel Silver Earrings

In 1861, the decorative arts firm of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. was opened at No. 8 Red Lion Square in London and the Arts & Crafts movement was truly born. The firm, which at first created only fabrics, carpets, carved wood and stained glass, eventually expanded into all reaches of the decorative arts including jewelry. Other Arts & Crafts firms followed, notably with Liberty & Co. opening in 1874 on Regent Street, and by 1880 the Arts & Crafts movement was in full swing.

Made in England around 1900, these exceptional earrings are a wonderful example of the kind of jewelry that came out of the Art & Crafts era. Stunningly beautiful in their simplicity, these silver beauties are highlighted with blue and green shades of enamel. They are a lovely pair which measure 24 mm from top to bottom and 9.4 mm across. They are unmarked and together they weigh 3.2 grams.

Finding lovely Arts & Crafts earrings is no easy task, so I was delighted to come across these lovelies! They would make a wonderful addition to any collection of Arts & Crafts design.
