Antique Arts & Crafts Silver Amethyst Cross Pendant by Kate Eadie

Kate Eadie (1880-1945) was an English jeweler, known for her enamel work and manuscript illuminator skills. Her style was very Arts & Crafts, as you can see with this beautiful amethyst cross. Born in Harborne, she spent most of her life in Birmingham. She trained at the Birmingham School of Art, perfecting her craft and likely learning under the Gaskins. She met her husband in school and modeled for the pre-Raphaelite painter, Sidney Meteyard. She was also an associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.

This Arts & Crafts pendant was handcrafted around 1910 in England by the renowned Kate Eadie. It showcases a stunning array of six amethysts set in silver on a foliate cross motif. Each of the amethysts measure 7.3 x 7 x 4.7 mm and together they weigh approximately 20.7 carats. Overall, this cross measures 53.7 x 25.8 mm and it weighs 6.1 grams.

I knew it, you’ve been looking for the perfect cross. You came to the right place. Purple amethysts, scattered leaves, touches of silver - looks like you found the one.
