Antique Arts & Crafts Silver Hammered Moonstone Pendant, Hallmarked 1909

This fabulous silver pendant bears the marks of Gourdel Vales & Co, importer of fine objects who had a retail shop in Great Marlborough Street, London.  They finished this particularly lovely piece in 1909 and it’s marked with the Hallmarks to tell us.

This handcrafted pendant is bezel set with a particularly bright and shimmering blue cabochon moonstone gem that measures 10 mm long and 6.5 mm wide and is 4 mm deep, the smaller stone at the bottom is 6 x 4 x 2.5 mm.  This vibrant silver pendant has a wonderful and whimsical shape and a textural hammered pattern.  Marked with the Lion Passant and the Anchor to show that it was made in Birmingham, England, as well as the letter date 'k' for 1909, and the maker's mark ‘G.V.&Co.’.  It weighs 4.3 grams.

Perfect with sun-drenched skin and a cosmo, but would be happy with a cup of coffee and yoga pants, too!
