She wore it on the sandbar barefoot with a sundress, sipping lemonade. She wore it to the gala in the city in a strapless black dress and flats, sipping champagne. She wore it in jeans while horseback riding in the desert with her husband, sipping spring water from a canteen. She wears it all the time, because she can, because it’s glamor meets casual, because it’s cute meets classy, because it goes with everything.

She wasn’t suspecting a thing, as he had secretly wished for. She sat on the front porch swing and rocked back and forth, listening to the crickets and the neighbor play his guitar. He sang deeply and slowly, as though he knew the whole block was listening, enjoying his sweet love songs. The day was ending and the cool breeze gave her arms the tiniest of goose bumps. He sat near her, in a wicker chair, watching her as she breathed in the summer air, as she hummed with the song that floated through the sky. He almost forgot that he had a locket in his pocket, ready to surprise her with, as it was her birthday. She was just so mesmerizing to him.
This antique French horseshoe locket was handcrafted around 1880. It’s quite beautiful and cleverly designed as the front is a window to the photograph within. It features a star bursting in the center of a downward facing golden horseshoe, with swirls of pierced silver, all of which is mounted inside an oval border. When opened, the inside reveals a plate of beveled glass overlaying a light brown sheet of fabric, both held together inside of a frame, awaiting your choice of photograph. This stunning piece measures 43.2 x 27.4 x 9.4 mm and weighs 16.4 grams. It has been hallmarked with the French boar’s head signifying it was made in silver.

This piece is the ultimate homage to the shape of the female’s neck. It moves well against the skin, flowing with her laughter, curving with her movements. It gives it the perfect amount of glint beneath the light and weight against the décolletage.

The first piece of jewelry a man buys a woman has to be just right. Rule number one, don’t giver her a ring until it’s ‘the ring’, rule number two, you can never go wrong with a locket. Her grandmother wore one, her mother wore one, it conveys just what you feel, without a word, timeless. This one is just the right shape for love, add the beautifully shiny finish and natural pearl and you have a gift straight from the heart.

The most famous flea market in Paris is the one at Porte de Clignancourt. I go to Les Puces (the fleas) every time I set foot in that old town, even if just for a stroll. Last time I found this antique 18 karat gold Virgin Mary pendant. It has the words 'Virgo Virginum" meaning 'Virgin of Virgins' around a right-sided profile of Mary with a halo. The backside has a capital 'M' resting on a cloud as if in heaven. Two beautiful lily flowers frame the profile of the Virgin Mary and form the heart-shaped pendant. I fell hard for the gorgeous Art Nouveau styling of this fantastic pendant!
This antique pendant was handcrafted around 1910, perhaps in France although it bears no marks. We've carefully acid tested it to verify that it is made of 18 karat gold. It measures one inch (25.4 mm) from N to S, 13/16" from E to W (20.6 mm), is 1.8 mm thick, and weighs 5 grams.
