These fabulous antique turn of the century earrings though unmarked, were made most likely in France, during the early 1900's. The rarest of finds, these quite substantial all diamond cluster drops each have a glittering old European cut center surrounded by eight twinkling rose cut diamonds. Both settings are topped with a trefoil of rose cuts diamonds that connects at the top of the lever backed 18k gold earring mount.
In excellent condition, these amazing antique diamond earring weigh 4.8 grams, test as 18k gold and measure 18.3 x 11.9 mm. The center diamonds each measure 4.4 x 4.4 x 2.5 mm and 4.2 x 4.4 x 2.7, and have an estimated weight of .31 and .32 carats each. The lever on the back of each earrings is hand inscribed with '0.67', which is likely the precise total weight of the two center diamonds.
