Antique Diamond Gypsy Ring 18k Gold Engagement Wedding Band

I guess I’m probably showing my age when I say that this ring reminds me of those old advertisements for Secret deodorant, it was always a man trying to use his ladies deodorant and she had to school him and tell him that even though it’s strong enough for a man, it’s made for a woman. Ahhh… the 80s. This ring is actually the opposite, it was surely made for a man, but it’s strong enough for a woman, that’s for sure.

A bright and sparkly old European cut diamond is the star of this classic ring. It’s a clean, white stone which measures 4.8x4.5x2.6 mm and weighs about .45 carats, it’s a stone with a lot of fire and flash. The ring is a velvety soft and weighty band of rich, buttery 18 karat yellow gold which is a size 9.25 and weighs 6.9 grams. The ring is fully hallmarked as having been made in Chester, England in 1885, it is also marked as 18 karat gold and with the makers mark of ‘AS’. The ring measures 6.2 mm from north to south and sits 2.8 mm off the finger, it narrows to 3.6 mm at the back of the band.

This ring has the lines and classic appeal of a perfectly fitted suit, and it’s equally perfect for a woman or a man.
