Antique Edwardian 14k Gold Pendant set with Diamond and Pearl

I think this fabulous pendant would go perfectly with velvet, in any color. Silk would be fine, too. It would elevate cotton, conquer rayon and on occasion could play with nylon, too; but I think velvet would suit it best. The Edwardian's wore a lot of velvet, so it’s not surprising they would make a pendant to compliment it so beautifully.

This wonderful Edwardian pendant showcases that light and airy feel of the Edwardian form and yet shows the angles and strong lines that gave birth to Art Deco. It is hand crafted in 14 karat gold and set with a sparkling .1 carat diamond and a half pearl, a small full pearl dangles from the bottom. This wonderful, glowing pendant measures 47 mm long from the top of the bale and is 21 mm wide. It has some marks on the back that I’m not familiar with and aren’t sharp enough for me to make out so that I can look them up. I’ve posted a detailed photo, if you recognize this marks, please feel free to let me know! It is marked ‘585’ for 14 karat gold and I’m not sure of its origin, perhaps Russian, or Dutch, certainly made around 1910. It has a lovely soft feel and weighs 2.1 grams.

This beautiful diamond pendant really would go with anything, it’s one you’ll reach for again and again!
