Antique Edwardian 9k Gold Mizpah Ring

$ 550.00

Mizpah is steeped in history and time as it originates from the bible. The word refers to wishing good luck and safe return to the other as you must be apart for a while. “May the Lord watch between thee and me while we are apart, one from the other”, known as the Watchtower. During a time of world exploration, sea travel, and war, Mizpah became a symbol of romance, of desire, and of chivalry. To gift this ring to another meant they were indelibly marked on your heart, and with this ring they could find comfort when apart.

This antique gold MIZPAH ring was handcrafted in Birmingham, England in 1915. This ring is a size 8 and it weighs 3.8 grams. It was crafted in 9 karat gold and bears the corresponding hallmarks, “9” and “.375”. The ring face measures 5.9 mm in depth and 1.2 mm off the finger. The band width is 3 mm at the back. It bears the date letter, “q” and the maker’s mark, “W&J.S”.

A Mizpah ring is a timeless way sweep them off of their feet, to delve into old tradition, and to show your heart.
