“Have you ever chased a sunset?”, she asked, he head cocked to one side. He looked at her quizzically as she grabbed his hand and led him to the car where they drove in the opposite direction of the world’s magical rotation. She donned the necklace he gave her with excitement in her emerald eyes. She told him that to truly appreciate the sunrise, you have to stay up all night and watch it from the other end of time. So they did.
This antique Edwardian 9 karat gold curb link watch chain was handcrafted around 1910 in England. It is a grand piece with a slight rosy gold color. This watch chain is fully hallmarked. The maker’s mark reads, ‘FF & Co’ meaning it was made by the wonderful and talented Fetter, Forbes & Co, of Hylton St, Birmingham. They operated from 1907 to 1921. The anchor mark means the Birmingham Assay Office. The gold purity marks read, ‘9’, and, ‘.375,’ both indicating this piece was crafted in 9 karat gold and it’s stamped on every link. This piece measures a lovely 17.5 inches in length and weighs 45.3 grams.
This classic piece was meant to be worn around that swan-like neck, maybe during a summer evening, by the lake, with a glass of champagne, to celebrate another perfect sunset.
