Blue Zircon is one of my favorite gems, it’s got wonderful refractive qualities, which is just another way of saying that it Sparkles! The color varies between sky blue and turquoise, the golden surround has that wonderful sea and sand contrast.
Hand crafted in about 1910, this light and airy necklace epitomizes the Edwardian style. It is set with two round, faceted sparking blue zircons, the larger one measures 8x8x6 mm and weighs about 3.21 carats, the smaller one is 7x7x4.5 mm and weighs about 1.85 carats. Each of the blue zircons is surrounded by a frame of small seed pearls. The necklace measures 16 inches around and the drop is 43 mm long and 15 mm wide at the widest point. This necklace is marked with ’14k’ for 14 karat gold and has been carefully acid tested to verify its content, it weighs 5.3 grams.
