Antique Edwardian Love Knot Ring 18k Gold 1910

$ 1,250.00

Starting with sailors in the mid 1800's, the love knot quickly became a symbol of undying love and devotion. The Victorians really loved this sentiment and the love knot took off in popularity, a popularity that lasted into the Edwardian period. Sentimental and romantic, I simply adore love knot rings like this one.

The craftsmanship on this ring is quite wonderful, the shank splits to form a triple knot of rich, glowing 18 karat gold decorated with hearts and flowers. The ring has hallmarks that tell us it was made in Birmingham, England in 1910. It also is marked with an '18' for the gold content and the makers mark of ‘ACCO’. The ring measures 9 mm north to south and 20 mm across, it sits 2.4 mm off the finger and narrows to 3.4 mm at the back of the band. It is a size 8.25 and weighs 5.7 grams.

This ring would make a very romantic and lovely wedding band.
