Antique English Sterling Silver Anchor Link Watch Chain, Double Albert, 17.5"

A pocket watch, the gentleman's timepiece of choice; it is as true now as it was then. It was a necessity for virtually everyone during the Victorian Era. Back then, watching a man pull a pocket watch out of his jacket was an enchanting thing. Amazingly, it still is. It didn't take long for the ladies to make this trend their own. They created necklaces and bracelets using this iconic logic and have been wearing them ever since.

This fancy sterling silver watch chain has a wonderful anchor link motif. It was handcrafted in England around 1900-1910. There is a Lion Passant hallmark on each link indicating that it is made from sterling silver. The t-bar has a maker's mark that reads, 'M&M.' It has been acid tested to verify sterling silver content and weighs 35.5 grams. This chain, sometimes called a ‘double Albert’ measures 17.5 inches, and closes with two lobster claw clasps. The larger links measure 9.3 x 7.1 x 2.3 mm and the smaller plain links measure 7.8 x 6 x 1.6 mm.

I quite love this one, it’s a stunning old chain with a wonderful contemporary look and feel. And it's waiting for you to carry on its history. Perfect.
