Antique English Sterling Silver Watch Chain, Hallmarked 1901, 17 inches

It was a hot night. One with Salsa music and sling back heels that spun to the melody. It was a night of really bad jokes paired with equal amounts of laughter mixed with the perfect amount of aged tequila. And it worked because of sparks and chemistry and attraction. Of course, the giving of a silver necklace didn’t hurt either.

This antique English Sterling Silver watch chain was handcrafted in 1901, but it is as contemporary and wearable today as it was over 100 years ago. It measures 17 inches in length and weighs 42.3 grams. This piece is fully hallmarked. It features an anchor mark, meaning it was crafted in Birmingham, England. The letter year code reads, ‘b’ meaning the year 1901. The maker’s mark reads, ‘H.A&S’ which stands for the Birmingham based and infamous Henry Allday & Sons. The silver purity content mark reads, ‘925’, meaning sterling silver, and it is also marked with the English lion rampant, which indicates it’s sterling content.

An antique silver English watch chain, or 'Double Albert', as it’s sometimes called, is simply the perfect accessory, it goes easily from day into night and is equally wearable with everything from flip flops to a little black dress.
