"Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross, To see a fine lady upon a white horse; Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, And she shall have music wherever she goes."
These lightweight and musical antique Etruscan Revival earrings brought to mind this old nursery rhyme. The origins of this one are lost to time, but it’s thought perhaps to date back to the 15th Century when ladies shoes were adorned with bells at the tips. The earrings don’t go back quite that far, but they were hand crafted in the 1860s, and beautiful crafted to be sure. Lightweight and hallow, they move with your every turn, chiming every so slightly in that breeze you create.
These hand crafted lovelies are done all in 15 karat gold, they are not marked but have been acid tested to verify their gold content. They are quite long, 66 mm from the top of the wire to the bottom ball and 18 mm wide at the widest part. Together these earrings weigh 7.5 grams.
They put on quite the show, these, wear them if you, too, would like to have music wherever you go.
