This fantastic early Art Deco pendant features the Virgin Mary in profile, her face aglow, her veil draped artfully around a head encircled by a halo. This pendant was hand crafted in France in the early 1920s and is marked with the French eagle’s head mark and a French makers mark. The eagle’s head mark indicates a gold fineness of .750 or 18 karat. This wonderfully detailed pendant measures 26 mm north to south and 16.3 mm across, it weighs 3.6 grams. The pendant is signed on the front by the metal artist, ‘P. Lasserre’.
