Antique French Art Nouveau Brooch by Felix Rasumny in 18k Gold, c. 1900

Felix Rasumny was a renowned engraver, born in Russia and naturalized into French citizenship. He was a member of the Societe Nationiale des Beaux-Arts in 1911. His works were exhibited at the Salon of the Societe des Artises Francais in 1891, and at the Exposition Universelle in 1900. He designed this gorgeously detailed, beautifully done brooch. His name, ‘F Rasumny’ is engraved on the bottom front of this piece. It is also marked with an eagle head, signifying French origin, as well as the letters ‘PUL’.

This Art Nouveau brooch was crafted in about 1900 of 18 karat gold. It’s in the shape of a pansy leaf and shows a lovely girl whose head is in profile, glancing left, while her hair flows around her in an animated swirl. This piece weighs 5.4 grams and measures 20.4 x 20 x 7.4 mm.
